The Carnegie House Story

Constructed in 1993 by local developer Philip Sieg and privately owned since its founding, Carnegie House is a loving homage to Pennsylvania industrialist and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie. Through railroads and other business ventures, Carnegie brought early prosperity to the state and his “Gospel of Wealth” essay inspired generations to support their favorite charitable causes.

Carnegie, born in Scotland, treasured visits to the rugged Highlands of his native country during stays at his historic Skibo Castle retreat in Dornoch. The castle would later become the home of the private Carnegie Club, where Mr. Sieg was a member. The estate and its golf course were so beloved by Mr. Sieg, he envisioned Carnegie House to evoke the same ambiance of regal Highland hospitality.

Lavishly renovated by the current owners, Carnegie House carries forth the tradition of refined yet relaxed Scottish style. Custom furnishings, handwoven tartans, fabrics, warm woods, and cozy nooks define its spaces, all serenely nestled in the rolling foothills of the Allegheny Mountains. We look forward to welcoming you to enjoy everything this special property and our surrounding Happy Valley region has to offer.
